Did you link your applications in your MyCIC account?
Thanks!!

I just called and I can't link my account because we have not received an approval for sponsorship just an email back in July saying that they received the application so according to the nice lady that I talk to I still don't have a application file. Apparently did have not event started proccesing my file and since my OWP is linked to my sponsorship they will not start processing that one either. :( so she say to keep wating for the next step :( she say that it could be up to 12 months for the next step..

So I guess keep waiting

That doesn't seem right... You should have been able to link your application when they emailed you on July 18th. It would have included your UCI# and Application# Which would be your AOR. The lady/agent on the line should have been able to provide you with your application # and you UCI.. in order to help you link the applications.... Both Permanent Residence and OWP are available to link on cic once the AOR is recieved.

Are you using a representative?

No we are not using one
And I did give her the icu and the application file number and thats what she told me that the email is not an approval is just a confirmation that they received the file that why we can't link it.

I don't know what to think anymore.
I hope it doesn't mean that they will not approved it.

You should be able to link it with those, you just need to correctly put in the same information as you did on the application sent. I would recommend trying DOB/PASSPORT for the applicants information. Not the sponsor....
you dont need to wait for the approval. You are able to link when they send the email stating they have received your application

I have been monitoring this post for a while but this is my first post. I just got my spouse's OWP approved last Saturday, here's my timeline:

Inland Application
App received: June 15th
AOR: July 27nd
OWP: September 28th

I know there are a lot of people who have applied later than most of them but got their OWPs approved much earlier, to them - Congratulations guys.. time to celebrate.. kick back and relax.. and wait for the PR update next!! lol :)

And I also know there're a lot of applicants who are waiting for that update/email from CIC, watching everyone else get their permits, to them - Hang in there guys! I know you are very anxious and frustrated.. I know I was.. and it came.. little later than I expected but still happy I got it. We have one good thing going for us, there has not been any rejections yet! So, don't let the stress get to you.. It's coming soon and you know it! All the best!

If there was a file number in your e-mail (something beginning with F) the file is probably in their system and you should be able to link it. There might have been some miscommunication.

It is correct that the e-mail is not an approval but just a confirmation of your application being received and that there are no missing documents at this time. That is true for everyone here though. The entire process will take 12 months or so. Linking your application, however, should work right now, as you do have an application number.

Note that the UCI number in the e-mail is not the UCI of the sponsored person, but rather the UCI of the sponsor. You will not be able to link your applications with that number.

Instead, try using the application number as the identifying information along with place/country of birth etc. when linking your application for PR.

Once you have linked your PR application you will be able to see the sponsored person's UCI. Use that information to link the OWP.

Keep us updated, as it is very important to link your applications. Not doing so may cause delays, or worse.

3.5 months after app received seems to be the average processing time. Some get it 3 months after app received, which is lucky. Some get it closer to the 4 month mark. Waiting sucks, but everything within 4 months is entirely normal.

HI there!!
Yes I did try all the possible combination and it keeps giving me the same error
-Based on the information you entered, we found no applications.- until they blocked me for 24 hours LOL!!
I guess ill keep trying or will call tomorrow to see if someone else can help me...
But according to the lady on the phone we just need to wait. For the next step email.. That according to her can happen somewhere in the next 12 months
