Hello Guys,

I am waiting for my PR card renewal, just wondering if everyone can share your PR renewal status especially for those who already get your application completed so we can provide everyone who's in a similar situation and idea about the processing timeline.

Here's my status just checked this morning:

1.We received your application for a permanent resident card on January 22, 2018.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 9, 2018.
3.We started processing your application on April 9, 2018.
My wife applied for renewal of PR Card on 21 August 2018. For status check, do we need to put old PR Card number?

Thanks in advance.

Congrats. I got AOR today in the morning. In the ECas only “application received on 27 September “ is written.

Application received June 11th, have been sitting at In Process since Sept 20th. Should I be concerned? Seems that a few people around my timeline have been getting DM...

I did the same send pictures again with DOB and name mentioned and explanation letter if you got the AOR that's mean i will get it too.
Please update once you receive you PR.
Will do. See my post above, still waiting for DM.

How long between when it said "Application Received" on ECAS and when you got AOR?

Yes , i am doing exactly as you mentioned.

Yeh now i will send as urgent. my application got rejected because of some stupid photographer's mistake.
Hi, It happened to me as well, I got my whole file back because of photo rejection. I have flight too on Oct travelling to India, I am gonna send them Urgent request. Now my question is did you send prepaid envelope of Ups or purolator? As canada post is on strike from Monday?

Friends what if you stay more than three years out of Canada since your first entry i.e. if you enter after four years but still one year is there in expiry of your PR card. Will they allow you? Will they renew your PR card after expiry? Is it necessary to stay at least two years within 05 years?

You must spend 2 years in first 5 years in Canada from initial landing (not from PR card issue date) after which 2 years in any 5 year period preceding each new entry into the country. If you stay out of Canada for more than 3 years there is a possibility you could be reported at the entry point leading to your PR status being revoked.

If after 4 years you are lucky enough to not be reported then you must stay in Canada for 2 plus years with limited or no interaction with immigration, so no attempt to renew a PR card until the RO has been met.

Your PR card validity is not relevant to the residency obligation, all that indicates is you are a PR entitled to enter Canada and also allows you board a plane back to Canada. If you have not met the residency obligation at the time you apply to renew your PR card this could also start the process to have your PR revoked so always advisable to meet the residency requirement that you signed up for when you applied for PR.

Once your PR card has expired and you are outside of the country you would need a PRTD to return to Canada which again if you failed the RO could start the process to revoke your PR status. You cannot by the way apply to renew your PR card from outside Canada

15 days. Next level anxiety begins with Canada Post possible strike. Hopefully IRCC sends cards by courier to CIC for pick ups for assured and timely delivery.
