I have couple of queries. You might have answered these queries in the thread before, but I just cant find them due to lack of in thread search option. So I have to ask here.

The first one is regarding Proof Of Funds. I am planning on getting it either from my wife’s gold or from my Mom’s retirement money. Either way what is the best possible way to authenticate it. Like say if it is my wife’s gold, we might not sell it but my father in law or someone else from family can keep it as deposit against some money and my Father In law can transfer it to me or my wife. What documents would be needed in this case? And also if it is from my Mother, what documents would I require? Also is these documents enough to prove the deposit of large sum of money within a month of application? My account is also my educational loan account. (Seperate account transactions though). Will that be an Issue?

The other query is regarding work reference letter. Now I have seen the format all over the forum so that is fine. In my situation, I have worked for Company X since 2014 and was working in one of their Hotels named Y. I was later promoted to the NOC I am applying in 2015 and later the name of the hotel was also changed from Y to Z. I was then moved to a different place within country to Hotel A under the same company X and worked in the same NOC position. This Hotel A was also rebranded later as Hotel B. So my question is how many reference letter should I submit. Should I do it for different hotels and should I just mention the name change?

1. For the PoF, it cannot be borrowed, or you cannot take a loan and show it as a PoF. The PoF should be the funds, which should be unencumbered and available for you to settle in India. Pledging gold for money is the same as taking a loan against your property, which does not count as PoF.
For any funds you take from your parents, that can be in the form of a gift deed.

2. For reference letter, it will depend on your situation. You can get reference letters based on different NOCs, position you held, or places you worked, even if for the same company. The bottom line is that it should be easy for the officer to understand. Even if your take different letters based on NOC / positions / place of work form the same company, each letter has to state that you worked there from year to year, and all positions held.

Meanwhile, we reside in Nigeria. Can our file be transferred to there Lagos office since we reside in Nigeria upon request?

If in your application you have your address, then the LVO will be the office in your country of residence. The file can be processed anywhere, but if you are called for an interview, you will be called to the LVO.

If you are called to a location, which may cause you undue hardship to travel, you can surely request a change of location for the interview.

I submitted a reference letter which confirms part-time work experience that is paid and equivelant to full-time (40hrs/ week and is paid work per hour). It looks like the case analyst didn't recognize the part-time experience. What should I do in this case? Does his recommendation means that my application will be rejected, Or there is still chances the officer will review and reconsider my part-time foreign work experience?

This is an analyst or an assistant note for the officer to review and make a determination. The officer can go either way. When you say it is part-time, but equivalent to full time, I don't get that. This could be what may have confused the analyst.

Yes, the address is immaterial. For passport return, you can provide any address, it doe snot matter.

Hi Legal falcon. Need your advice! As you said, I ordered GCMS notes on 13-September-2018. I know that it takes 30 days to get deliver. But recently I sent an email inquiry to cpc Ottawa office to know the status of my application. On the next day I got reply that “Please be informed that your application is in queue for review by an officer”. This reply is totally different compare to all previous replies. Previously I was getting a reply that “We are doing additional verification”.
It’s been 20 months.
So now, I would like to know the meaning of the reply which I got recently ! Please and thank you.

CBSA is unpredictable. Some files do not go to CSIS or may not have been sent to CSIS, that is what your CSIS report came blank. The best deal would be to request CBSA notes, they have the entire history and will help you know what is going on.

Thank you @legalfalcon. I've already ordered my CBSA notes but they've asked for 30 days extention to release them. I'm hoping to receive them in the next 8-10 days or so.

If your application has been transferred to the LVO, then the IRCC call centre may not have information available about your application. So if your MyCIC status is fine, you are good.

If you want to be absolutely sure, you can request GCMS notes, and that will have all the information about your application, including if the information you dispatched has been added to your file.

My problem is file size, no matter what I did, I cannot compress any more than that. So, the english translation of one of my banks does not fit.

Is it okay if I upload that exceeding part into Client Information (i.e. Letter of Explanation field) and explain like due to file size limitation ?

Would there be any issue (i.e. officer can't find or does not accept etc.?

Can we travel in may 2019 and apply for PR card and stay till It arrives (approx 100 days though our visa would have expired)or we need to land asap and apply for PR card before our Visa expires?

Open a MS Word document and cope-pest the scanned images, then publish the Word document as PDF. It will be comparatively smaller size, if it is still larger than 4mb then you can compress it with online tools like smallpdf. Your job will be done.

Thank you for your valuable advice, but i have tried that already, no matter what i did i couldn't reduce the file size any lower than 5.5 mb, when i try further reducing it the quality is compromised so badly that it is unreadable.

then you have to scan the documents again with smaller dpi. Set your scanner at 100-200 dpi. I hope it will be solved for you.

Thank you so much I will try that as well, I hope it works. By the way, in case it doesn't work, how safe is it to upload the remaining documents to personal history (Client Information field) and explain in LOE that due to file size limitations I have uploaded there ?
