listening test in ielts

Recordings are separate and played with pauses in between. For example, in section 1, for questions 1-4 or 1-6, u would hear a recording and then it will be paused giving u time to read questions 6-10. After few seconds, recording is resumed for questions 6-10 and so on..

So can I take pause in between section 1 and 2 ?, If I want to think about my answers.
Bcs on YouTube or on official iets site , practice test is one single mp3 or video file which contains all 4 section. But, while practicing, sometimes I pause it to check answers.
Can I do same thing in exam ? Or i m practicing wrong ?

It's not your personal cd player. You can't pause or rewind. It just plays start to finish with 30 sec gaps between every few questions for you to check the answers.
