Hi,

I applied a super visa for my mom.
She is already in Canada and we just got a medical request and i am taking her to a physician next week.

She was never diagnosed with TB so I did not know but she mentioned that
her doctor once told her she has a scar on her lung that might be trace of TB.

My question is that,
what happens if she has a scar that might be trace of TB?

Does she have to go back to her country and got tested?
Or her visa will be approved then she needs those medical surveillance?

I appreciate any input!!

Not just TB but even pneumonia could cause a scar on the lung. This could show up on X-rays even if someone had pneumonia as a child.

If it is a scar caused by TB, she would be tested to check if it is active or inactive TB

Hi Brianna,

Thank you for your kind reply.

Would the doctors know that the scars from what?

If she has to get tested, what happens her visa while she is getting tested?
I guess it could take a while.
her visitor visa will be expired in Oct 30.

Thank you.

Do check with your mom if she had pneumonia.

If she tests positive for active TB, she would be asked to do additional tests/take a course of medicines/go through medical surveillance and later redo the tests after a couple of of months.

her visitor visa will be expired in Oct 30.
She must apply to extend her current stay on the TRV entry within the next couple of weeks max.

It might just be a case of old pneumonia or else inactive TB. Take things as they come. Don't worry

Hi Brianna,

Thank you for your input.

Can i ask you another question?

So my mom just received a medical request last week.
And her application was approved today but it is valid until 2019,June 30.

What does it even mean?

Did CIC just give her visitor visa extension i/o super visa?

I am confused!!

It seems like she received a visitor record (paper) with the medical tests as part of the conditions, right?
