Name variation in certificate

Hello,

I've received my ITA for EE via CEC.

I have a variation in the name on my educational certificate from home country. My WES evaluation says

- The names on one or more of the academic credentials submitted for evaluation differ from the name indicated above.

Eg: My name: John Smith
Name on certificates: John S

I have never changed my name, this difference is only on my educational certificate.
Should I have to submit a letter of explanation or an affidavit/legal document to explain this to CIC.

Please advise.

No worries. If it's no trouble I would get a legal document, otherwise leave it at the officer's decision. Mention that you can obtain an affidavit letter, and if needed you can provide it at anytime.
