Given that you had to show that you can afford international tuition you may not qualify for legal aid or welfare. You will need to be assessed. Asylum claimants don't qualify for provincial health care, there is a separate refugee health program.
Will he still continue as a international student or his student status will be cancelled coz his refugees status?

Hello everyone . I would like to know something for you guys. I am a refugee claimant in quebec , I applied few days ago, Now I want to when can I apply for welfare and health card ? Can anyone please suggest me the time frame that will be required to apply for welfare and health card. Thanks.
You can go to social service office in montreal with your refugee claimant document. They will access you and decide whether you are eligible for social assistance or not.
As regards the health card. the claimant document that u were given when you claimed refugee serves as your interim federal health coverage, you dont get the Health card itself untill you become a conventional refugee. Goodluck

Hi Samer,
My hearing was postponed 2 times and now I have one on the Sep 25. It is 11 months after my application.
Even this 11 months was like years for me. I wish you get good news soon.
Best of luck to you in your hearing! Hope you share your timeline with us after the hearing! I hope there won’t be any postponement again!
