Does admission in a private university in Canada instead of public affect visa approval chances?
I got an admission in an American university which has it's campus in Canada.
The university is ranked good in America though.

yes. only a few private colleges are listed under the designated learning institute. also, private colleges might not qualify under pgwp.

Mine university is designated. I personally checked. Also, it qualifies for pgwp as per cic official website.

A private University will not get you a PGWP. Kindly post the link stated on cic website.

Yeah but how do we know which University qualifies for sure? Unless cic has a list of private Universities degrees that will make you qualify to apply for a PGWP, one should stick to the public ones.

to check if a college or uni is qualified, look for the yes in the last column: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html

just search for your college/uni (either private or public).

Avoid private if possible, they are just money sucking enterprises and get zero respect from employers.
I have already attained admission in a private American university that has a campus in Canada. Of course it was due to some certain unavoidable reasons.
