OMG , seems something wrong with you... download the checklist once you choose the options....
Spousal PR application doesn't need proof of income. Its been that way for many of years and IRCC has approved alot of spousal PR where the sponsor is unemployed. Proof of income is only needed for specific situation for Spousal PR is when the spouse has kids who are not PR or considered a Canadian Citizen by birth.

So OP's baby would be a Canadian Citizen by birth so she doesn't need to show any proof of income for dependents.

If you are unemployed or are low income you do have to prove how you will support your family without government help. In this case she could show her savings, her parents can include a letter saying they are letting the family remain at their house rent free. The husband can show his savings and potential employment opportunities if he has any. Her parents can also include their financial information and letter offering financial help if necessary.

That's correct.

In addition to this, the husband who is employed overseas can also provide a plan/evidence that he will seek employment/has job offers or he has interviews lined up. Basically, the idea is to prove to IRCC that the sponsor can support her husband and they will not seek welfare later

Actually, it also says that if you cannot provide a Notice of Assessment or proof of income statement (Option C), you must supply an explanation on a separate piece of paper, along with relevant supporting financial documentation showing how you plan to support the persons you are sponsoring.

No mention of it being mandatory to submit Option C. And having not submitted Option C myself for my spouses sponsorship, I can tell you it works just fine! The devil is in the details....read all instructions first before proceeding to the next level! Do not pass go! Remain seated while the machine is in operation!

Hi guys, I'm by no means an expert, I just remember seeing that the main difference between a PR & a citizen in terms of spousal sponsorship is:
1- Citizen can do outland
2- Citizen doesn't need proof of income, just not having used public assistance/benefits in the past N years (don't remember the number)...

Citizen and PR sponsoring spouses have the same financial requirements.

Interesting, how does that work if the Canadian spouse living abroad is the "dependent", the non-Canadian being the main earner? I expect that this is the case for a lot of, if not most of, Canadian expats.

Wouldn't say that....Most of the Canadians (and other foreign nationals outside their home country) were there working (including myself)

Sure, but supposably "a Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian"...so a Canadian married abroad, who after 20 years wants to move back to Canada with their spouse but the income is coming from the spouse...say the Canadian decided to stay at home to take care of children for example. What is the way for them to bring the spouse? (any children are obviously Canadian already so that's no biggie).

For simplicity let's assume they're well-off based on the non-Canadian spouse's employment income.

Again, since there are no financial requirements (with a few exceptions), all you would need to do is write the letter of explanation and submit the financial documents showing you can support the spouse.....doesn't say it has to be the sponsors finances, just financial documents. So if its the FN spouses finances they are going to live off you submit those, then it's all good.

Aaaah I see. I got confused when you said "same requirments as PR" so I thought there's some sort of requirement. Thank you @Buletruck

This is Canada, most women are educated and need/want to work. Given the cost of living having both spouses work is necessary. If a woman wants to sponsor her husband from abroad where the cost of living is much lower and so are the salaries she can get a job.

You're missing the point. The problem here is the non-Canadian spouse who cannot work in Canada (no work permit). Hence the need for an outland application. Plus not all Canadians can just go and get a job (to cover a whole family on their own). The Canadian job market is not the best. Let's say a Canadian living abroad got disabled and the couple decided to move to Canada say for better accommodation of disabled people. Here the newly-disabled spouse can't work so the income is from the non-Canadian.

Unfortunately most spouses do not get TRVs before or during the sponsorship process. Pregnancy actually makes the chances of a. TRV worse because the spouse will have even stronger ties to Canada. It is unfortunate that you hadn't looked through this forum earlier because their are so many woman in your position that had to give birth without their spouse. Not sure why you haven't started the sponsorship process already.

Hey you're so right. I don't have internet access, I'm typing through intelligent mind processes.

That's a generic link you posted.

You still have NOT posted the specific link that says the sponsor must submit evidence of employment + NOCs/Option C/bank statement, etc for a spousal PR application
