Congratulations to you! Finally ur wait ends here on a positive note!

Thank you. I feel really blessed & grateful.

Hey team,

How is COPR received? GCKey message, email to PA, or physical mail?

We received PPR Aug 28. Presumably this is the day that the online status checker changed to decision made, but I didn’t notice until a few days later.
They received the needed documents Sept 5.
GCKey changed to Final Decision: approved on Sept 8. I’m not clear on if this is different than DM from the online checker and GCKey was just behind, or if it switched because they reviewed our PPR documents with no criminal or dependant changes so it was then final final.

I know we will get COPR soon, I would just like to know where so I can obsessively check only one location instead of three.

I also figured others might have similar questions since it seems the first round of May applicants to be approved is starting to pick up, and hopefully many more are to come soon. :)

Congrats on your PPR.

COPR is a long piece of paper detailing your permanent residence status. You will get two hard copies of it when you receive your passport back after submission to VFS.

Thanks for sharing you applying for family sponsership or anything else

What happens after I send in my application?

We will:

  • review your application to make sure it’s complete
  • decide if you are eligible to sponsor
  • decide if you are eligible to apply to become a permanent resident of Canada
  • tell you when we start processing your application,
  • tell you how to get a medical exam, if you did not get one before sending in your application
  • do a security screening, to make sure all applicants do not pose a risk to the safety and security of Canadians
  • decide if you need to go to an interview
  • tell you of the decision we make on your application
