Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me information?
My wife did the outland sponsorship for me in May 2018, She was approved as a sponser in August 2018 and I was requested for Medical Exam which I did it in the end of August 2018 then I got an email on 5th of September that my file is transformed from Jordan to Romania!

Anyone has similar expirence with Romania Office? Why they transformed my file? How long will it take to request my passort?

I live in mississauga, ontario and have PR. My spouse lives and work in India. I Sent my spouse application on 21 June 2018, was delivered on 25 June. Still haven't received any response. Any suggestions?


Also, I sent my application through canada express post, to CPC Sydney- 49 dorchester street. Was that the right move?

They can transfer any country files now to the ones which are less busy. Afghanistan files to Australia and what not , but at the end final visa stamped by applicant's country, so ppt where to send it will be written in there , don't worry

Dear Experts,

I am new in this forum. Basically, I am from Bangladesh and waiting for PPR for visa stamping and my options is skilled migration. When i applied for PR i was married with one kid. At the time of my application, I mentioned my family composition but I kept my wife as non-accompanying. After being nominated from province, I applied for VISA for my and for my child. Here I have also mentioned my family composition and kept my wife non accompanying due to her on going education. I told that my wife will join us later on. All the family member did medical examination and I have submitted PCC for my wife also.

Now what are my options to bring my spouse? Will it be wise for me to apply for visit visa for my wife once our passports get visa stamping? I am confused.

Can I bring my spouse with visit visa? So that we can come Canada together. I am worried how can i manage my child without her mother

If I go for spousal sponsorship, then how to starts. when can I apply for her and how long it will take?

any kind advise will be very valuable for me.

I am in the similar situation, so how did your PR process go through? Did you get Visa just for you and your kid? were you able to get TRV for your wife? Did you sponsor your wife's PR?

I am new to this thread in the forum. Hope some one will help me out.

I am a PR holder since Jan 2018. I am engaged now and getting married in a couple of months. I have read the process to sponsor my wife. The processing times say 12 months. In that case she cannot land before Jan - Feb 2020.

Is there a way to bring her to Canada before she receives the PR? May be work permit or visitor visa? Has some one applied in that way? If yes, which one you chose first? Visitor Visa and then Sponsorship or sponsorship first and then applied for visitor visa?

You have to used the new kit. You can check it on the website. Got my PPR just right now

congrats! we applied in Nov '17 too! no answer yet not even a request for medical.

Hi to all,
I just have a question, I am a permanent resodent here. And I am about to start my spousal sponsorship for my husband. We got married back home. And I already changed my passport to my married name as it already expired few months back. But I still have my maiden name in my Permanent Resident card. The question is which name shall I use once I fill out necessary forms needed for the application. Shall I follow my new married name in my passport or the name in my PR card.

GOOD news you are getting a VISA stamped ppt back, my best guess

Mostly likely Canada visa office is sending off your passport to VFS or to you!

Good day, my name is sunday am from Nigeria, pls my wife sponsored me, I did my medical on the 28th August, 2018. And it showed medical Passed on the 30th same month,
My question is how long dose it take Canada Accra Embasy to request for my passport ?

The processing time for Nigeria is 1 year.

Processing Time. Once the necessary documents are gathered, it usually takes the Nigerian government up to 3 weeks to authenticate the documents. If you then file a Canadian sponsorship application for your Nigerian spouse or partner, this application takes an average of 10-12 months.

If you go to the CIC web site all the information that you need can be found there. But from the little research that I did it takes a year to process a Nigerian sponsorship application and that is in the best case scenario. If there are issue with the application, it will take longer.

I am just in the process of applying to sponsor my Filipina spouse so can I ask a question? The application seems shorter than in previous years and it's confusing because I have some forms dated a number of years ago but I don't know if they are still required. For example, Form 5490 was an in-depth from used to prove a relationship but under the current requirements, it's not even listed. When I go to the country specific requirements in the Philippines, it is not listed. Are some of the forms no longer being used? Thank you.

You need to down load the most current package from CIC. If you have documents that are no longer being used, CIC will send your application back to you and you will cause delay and anguish for yourself. Do a google search for the most recent sponsorship package and use this as your guide.
