Travel within 90 days after landing interview

Hello! I'm a US citizen, and I was sponsored by my common-law Canadian partner. I am currently staying in Canada under a valid work permit (expired in 2019). I just received my landing interview date, which is July 17 (Hooray!). However, I noted this in the letter:

"If you cannot attend this interview and/or have pre-booked travels outside of Canada in
the 90-days following your final determination for permanent residence interview
, please
e-mail WST-Landing-Enquiries@cic.gc.ca or call the IRCC Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100."

My partner and I are getting married in Japan in the fall, and we will be leaving September 16, which is within 90 days after my landing interview. I have read some forum posts noting that the main concern with the 90 days rule is regarding re-entry to Canada after overseas travels. I believe I should be okay to re-enter Canada using my work permit or my US passport, am I correct?

Just wanted to confirm the following:
1) Did anyone experience any issues traveling within 90 days AFTER the landing interview? Is this permitted?
2) I know I should probably email IRCC regarding my travels. However, would that cause any issues? Would that negatively affect the decision of my PR application?

Thank you!!!! Any feedback or recommendations would be great appreciated <3

Ah no sorry, Dutch passport, with valid work permit for the next 18 months.
I just received my letter for the landing interview, but will be traveling to Guatemala in December, which falls within the 90 days after the interview.

If you don't receive your PR card before leaving, you will need to either get a PRTD to fly to Canada or fly to the US and cross by land.

So work permit doesn't allow me access anymore in that situation?
I might be better off postponing the landing interview I guess

Sorry, I am just really confused by this. Do you know why this is? Why are your travel rights reduced upon obtaining PR status?

Nothing happens to your travel rights. You are free to leave Canada and travel wherever you want. However, for a PR to board a plane to travel to Canada, they must show a PR card or PRTD, with the exception of Americans.

Hi.
I am in this situation, but I am American. I tried to read the immigration site to see why that would make a difference and couldn't find any info. Can you advise?

Thanks!
You will not find anything official about it.

It is because Americans are both eTA and TRV-exempt. All other nationalities need a travel authorization: PRs can't get eTAs or TRVs, so if they don't have a PR card or PRTD, they can't board. American PRs can still board on the strength of just their passport.
