I got my invitation to apply for express entry. I am collecting all my documents.
I have 2 questions
1. I have 2 employment letters from my previous companies, they have my job duties, my joining date, are on the company letterhead etc but they have are dated 2014 and 2015. I used them during my US greencard application. Will the same letters do?

2. If they are okay, one of them is addressed to the US dept of homeland security, is that fine or do I need another one?

Anyone have any idea?

I am not sure but I got my letters back in 2016, and I applied in 2018. It should be ok. but addressing US probably is not ok.

Do you have a chance to get them from employers as "to whom it may concern"

I have one which has "to whom it may concern"
The other one is to the us visa officer :(

Is it possible to have one letter from HR telling about the time and job title and manager etc on the company letterhead. Another letter from manager *not on the company letter head* about the job duties? Is that acceptable?

I had a similar situation. What I have done is, I got the letter from my previous manager, she used her current company's letterhead and gave her contact information, she mentioned that she was my manager at that company at that time period and now she is working for a different company. She included in the letter that I was reporting her at that time.

If your work experience is Canadian, you can attach ROE too, and that would work.

If your experience is from out of Canada, get the letter from your previous manager within her/his current company's letterhead and attach her/his business card. Then try to get a letter from HR within your duties. That would be sufficient.

If you can get a proper letter from HR ( all the details, your hours, duties etc) , that should be ok too. Don't forget to add your payslips. If it is a international work experience - out of Canada I meant- get the payslips notarized.

Hope this helps.

If those are your previous companies, then those can be used here however they should not be addressed to US dept of homeland.

A piece of advice, go for new reference letters. Just to rule out the mindset of a visa officer, while processing your file.
