Restoration of visitor status.

Hello everyone,

I write to you asking if you've experienced having to send in a restoration of status.

My wife and I were about to fill out the inland sponsorship and we realized we messed up and let her visitor's status expire. We learned we have 90 days to file the restoration.

We were wondering if you had sent in a letter with your application explaining why you went over your 6 months.

There wasn't a spot on the form.. I found this odd.

Should we send in a letter with the form?

If you are submitting the inland PR app within 90 days of her status expiring, then include the OWP app and apply for Restoration as a worker.

I am in the same situation as above. My 90 days deadline is October 9th, I am getting ready to apply for a restoration as a tourist on October 1st (only reason why I will wait is to be able to send a proof of common law along with the restoration) We will become common-law on October 1st, and I am planning to send the inland PR app same date. Should I apply for OWP together even though I dont have status restored yet? How is it possible to restore as a worker if I have never had a WP?

You should have applied for Restoration as soon as possible. Waiting until you are common-law doesn't increase your chances. Submitting the sponsorship app the day you become common-law is risky. Do you have solid proofs of cohabitation from day 1?

Hmm So I should send the restoration this month explaining that I didnt leave before because I intend to apply for common-law? (If I attach the PR fee receipt, would it increase my chances of restoration?)

Yes, include the PR fee receipt.

"Bail"? If all you have is a bill from Oct to now, I would seriously suggest you wait until you have more proofs.

Bail is the appartment lease contract. We moved in together in October 2017. But since the price of the rent had everything included we never had a bill on our names, it will change from this month on. I had my visitor record coming to my address in December (I used the same address to extend my stay as a visitor). Only these. Ah and his parents could write a letter too? Because waiting for more proofs we would need to wait one more year before applying. The check list asks for 3 proofs and is stating that we need to send minimum 2 of them. Should I really wait for one extra year?

We have different companies providing us the cellphone services. Anything we do now we will only have proof from now. Proofs of a genuine relationship is fine (pictures, text, letters, trips, joint bank account...). He wanted to marry but I dont find it necessary since it would be a rush for the visa only and not a wedding as I want. We are trying to find a health insurance for both of us, and that is it I think. I didnt do it before because I had my tourist insurance, and didn't think about that.

I thought that I was going to be fine to apply in October and do not waste time, but now that you said, I don't know. :S

You need to submit 2 types of proof for 7(a) and 2 types for 7(c). Those proofs need to span 365 days. Did you not have anything else at that address? Any other mail? Bank statements? Credit card statements? Amazon receipts?

I dont receive bank statements by mail, I have them online, and yes, I updated my address with the bank in October.
I dont have credit card and my boyfriend kept his main address his workplace's one. He has the letters he receives from the physio professional order coming to our place. Thank you for all your responses.
