Hello Seniors,
I am the PA and will land in Toronto in next week. My wife and 10 month old daughter will land in Sep.
Can I and my wife have separate GALs ? Or should list everything she is going to carry as my GTF ?
Having separate GALs makes things easy.
I have seen conflicting answers in the forums. Some say B4 is per family and some say we can have separate B4s.

@qorax My husband is the primary applicant and will complete his soft landing first, I will be landing a few weeks after him. Can I take a goods to follow list for my jewellery and our other household items as the dependent?

One form per family unit.

The first person to land in the family, gets the forms stamped.

Thanks a ton @qorax for creating this detailed thread. I started reading from Page 1 and I have one lingering question though.

Me and my spouse received our CoPR recently and plan to cross into Canada by our own vehicle to initiate the PR card process before our CoPR expiry. We just plan to spend 3-4 days for the apartment hunt and plan to re-enter US. I plan to move there only at end of this year. I am not sure what should be the "Importer's Address" in this case.

Can this be left empty or should we just provide the hotel address in this case where we will be staying?

I understand we do not need the physical PR card in hard if we plan to cross border on land with our own vehicle. Please correct me otherwise.

For clothes, do you need to detail each item or just write clothes and a value for the whole lot?

Hii,
I read the recent posts and have few questions
-I will be doing a Soft Landing in Nov 2018 ,I understand I have to fill the BSF186 Form but what address do I need to put since I will be staying in a hotel?
-I need to get the BSF186A form also stamped ,my question is about the validity of the document since I am planning to move permanently after 1.5 years due to work contract(will the goods to follow list valid after 1.5 yrs)
-Apart from BSF186 & BSF186A do I need to fill IMM5444 (Application for PR card)

You’re going to need a Canadian address for your PR card to be mailed to anyway. If you have a friend or relative, you can use their address. Without a Canadian address, your PR card will not be mailed.

Yes, the Goods to follow form will still be valid a year and half after your landing.

No, you do not need to fill the application form for the PR card. PR card application will be done by the officer who will process you at the point of entry.
