Is ECA and Ielts compulsory for accompanying spouse?

Hi Guys, my CRS is 450 which seems high enough to get an invitation. My spouse will accompany me but I don't need additional points from her.
On CIC website's CRS calculator when I select the option that my spouse will accompany me it asks for her Education and Language which brings down my points to 434.
Is there a way to apply without claiming her points and having her do Ielts and ECA?

no they are not required but will add upto 30 points if she gets eca and ielts. 434 is not good enough right now.

no if you add her as accompanying your score will be 434, no way to increase it without her taking ielts and getting eca.
Has this rule changed recently? Because I've read on some forums where people say that if your crs is high enough you can simply choose to not claim points from spouse by skipping the section and adding her education details to personal history. I'm referring to this query which is similar to mine:

yeah if you are not claiming points for spouse( as accompanying) then your crs is 434.

It seems like you misunderstood my question. My crs is 450 to begin with but if I was to include my spouse it will go down to 434. So I was asking if I there is a way to not claim the points of my accompanying spouse and keep my points at 450?

But my crs is 450, why will it go to 434 if I'm not claiming points for spouse?
your crs is 450 with spouse non accompanying. its 434 with her accompanying which means you are not claiming any points for spouse. 'claiming' means your spouse is contributing points. but she is not so you are 'not claiming'
