Timeline for Open Work Permit

Hey guys,

Just about to send of my OWP application and my WHV expires in June. How long does it take to get the OWP ? Can people share their timeline.

I received my open work permit in my mailbox exactly in 4 months, I applied on September 12th of 2016 and received my OWP in my hand on the 12th of January. Most applicants pay $155 instead of $255 since the open work permit holder fee needs to be payed too. I hope you receive yours earlier,Godspeed.

Average time for worm permit for 2016 was between 3 months and a half and 4 months. This year so far is 4 months and a week...

I send my OWP application along with my inland spousal application to CPC Mississauga, PO BOX 5040, station B, Mississauga, ON L5A3A4

Yes, it's for Inland Spousal Sponsorship Work Permit. I didn't send mine with my PR application. so I'm sending it to:

I sent my OWP application with spousal sponsorship application to Mississauga. Just sent it today and only have a month left of my IEC, do I need to go on visitor status from when my IEC expires until I receive OWP? And I didn't pay the fee for temporary resident status with the OWP, think I paid 255. Did I do the right thing?? I'm doubting myself now!

You definitely need to go on visitor status since you won't get your OWP in time... I'd apply to change your status ASAP to be safe but 1 more hours is enough time to have it done so don't freak out.

You needed to pay 255. Owp holder fee and the work permit fee. If you didn't pay in full, they'll return your app....or take fees from your RPRF if paid upfront.

No - an outland applicant cannot apply for an OWP. Only inland applications qualify for an OWP.
