Hello lovely pals,

Can any one help me to figure out appropriate NOC. My job title was research assistant and I worked in hospital, so I guess it doesn't falls under "NOC 4012 Post-secondary teaching and research assistants". I thought I am more inclined towards NOC 1254 but I am not sure about it.

Following are my job duties:
  • Execute and provide maintenance on research studies. Carry out tasks related to research studies as required by investigator.
  • Maintain files and records of ongoing research projects.
  • Recruit and telephone screen subjects.
  • Communicate with research subjects; via telephone or in person and ask relevant research questions as per protocol.
  • Arrange for research subject follow-up.
  • Assist with research subject visits.
  • Perform selected research subject visit duties, for example, presenting questionnaires and collecting demographics.
  • Perform data collection as per protocol
  • Transfer data from questionnaires and data sheets to the databases. Enter data into Microsoft Excel and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) databases.
  • Prepare progress reports.
  • Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research.
  • Keep a log of all correspondence and communication relating to the assigned duties.
  • Assist principal investigators, research team members, and other staff in the development of, preparation for, and closeout of clinical research studies.
  • Perform administrative duties related to the research such as obtaining signatures and delivering documents to CID for the investigators.
  • Set up, calibrate and maintain laboratory and/or field research equipment, as specified by the requirements of the study.
  • Perform other research related duties as needed and within the scope of work.

You will have to make the best choice on the basis of your duties and which occupation has the most similar duties on the NOC list.

Matching the title is not important. The roles and responsibilities in your reference letters must be atleast 60 percent similar or the same as the NOC that you apply under.

Hello! Would you be able to let us know which code title you ended up selecting? The NOC codes have changed but I work in the same role and I'm having trouble finding a specific one, Thank you!
