I have a question. I am planning to sponsor my parents on 2019 but I do not meet the financial requirements for 2017 however I will meet the financial requirements for 2018, is that fine?

Why not? I thought I had to show proof of my last 12 months so if I am gonna apply on 2019, I would have to show my income of 2018

OP, It's strange that you think you can apply for you parents to be PRs while yourself aren't PR.

Most likely no. The parent sponsorship process is changing from lottery back to the older "first in, first out" system. This will most likely impact how LICO is assessed. With the old system, because applications are accepted in January, the NOAs for the previous year aren't available yet and LICO is based on the NOA from the year before that. So this mean that to qualify to sponsor in 2019 - you'll most likely need to meet LICO in 2017. This is how it was previously. Of course we'll have to see what happens once the new rules are released at the end of this year.

Btw. It's always been about NOA from the previous tax year or 2 years before that. It's never been "last 12 months".
As scylla have explained, since 2018 NOA won't be available in Jan (when the first come first serve system is re-engaged), it's possible that they will asked for NOA for 2017 instead.

Hi All,

I'm planning to apply for my Mother under PGP in 2019 and I'm in Quebec. Is someone aware of all the places where the process/requirements diverge from a normal (provinces other than Quebec) PGP?

I could find these ones out but if someone could confirm and add to it, we all could benefit.

1) Instead of a three-year mandatory income requirement, Quebec only asks for the last 12 months. For 2019, it would probably be 2017 and 2018 NOA.
2) The undertaking time frame is different (usually lesser)
3) You have to submit an application to MIDI for the undertaking and CSQ

Are there other steps too? OR especially steps where things are different?
