IMM 5532 part A question 2

In the « other sponsorships » question, I did put my ex wife that I sponsored.
Now I recall when we were together she wanted to bring her parents and I was helping her with forms and adding my salary their etc. In fact i totally forgot about that story and can’t remember all the details.

Do I have to mention that on the form or call IRCC if they might have records etc ?

Also, do I put her father or her mother or both ?

If you signed as a co-sponsor for your ex-wife's parents, they (both) are still your under taking. (depending on when the sponsorship was, it can be for 10 years or 20 years)

Thanks for the reply YVR123, but seriously ! I think it was 2011. She might have cancelled it after she did submit it. I believe now they come visit her on visa.

Do you know of a situation like this and what does it mean if they are still under my undertaking? And if the sponsorship was canceled is it all good now ?

If they landed as PRs and you were a co-signer, the undertaking is still in effect and you must declare this in the app. You need to find out.

I will declare that in the IMM 5532.

You need to find out for sure that they didn't land as PR. That's it. If they didn't, there is no undertaking.
If they did, you have 10 years from the day they landed for the undertaking.

Is there a way to find out if they got it other than asking them !
I don’t think they have it because they come maybe once every year or two , so even it they got it they would loose their residence not staying the minium length required since 2011. Strong feeling that they didn’t get it.
