November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I stopped checking this forum regularly and stopped worrying about this process, seeing people get frustrated and blaming everything for the delay - a couple weeks later, I got a test invite.

yes we applied as a family so you are correct , most prob. our oath will be on same time or so on .
Do you know how much time Oath take per applicant ? (2 min approx??) and the citizen ship certificate they issue by Judge that moment or some one else hand over late on some other room etc... sorry for asking many Question but not sure how to fix baby sitting problem .
can we request to some of authority over there to call me and my wife separately or it is not possible ? any idea?

I believe you don't have the correct impression of the Oath ceremony. This is how it goes:

1. It is a 'mass' gathering. Everyone booked for the day enter and remain in the ceremony room together.
2. After the 'oath' is administered en masse ~ names are called out to approach the dais and receive their certificates, one-by-one.
3. Thereafter, each applicant / or as a family unit get the opportunity to click photographs with the Citizenship Judge / Guest Patron.

So no, you will not be given an opportunity to/for one remaining outside while the other receives/completes the process. And there is no public baby sitting service at the venue.

Moreover, if your child makes noise, you and your child will be asked to leave the hall. I dont know what happens to their oath if they are escorted out. Its better to plan in advance.

Hello everyone! Finally! Got my test invatation today schedule September 17, from Mississauga transferred to Scarborough....in process since February 1st.... now it’s time to study again

Location for Oath is : Mississauga
and oat date : 11th Sept.

Question:

Can i take my 1 year old kid with me at oath center ? Is it possible that my wife can take oath first and I do baby sitting and then I can take oath and my wife can do baby sitting for our daughter ?
Is it possible? Any one took these toddler to oath center and how it can be managed ? please suggest

You both will have to do Oath same time in the ceremony room. You can take the baby in the ceremony room. As long as baby is not crying a lot, you should be ok. Even if baby is crying, one person can take baby out of room. They will announce that. And during oath, just bring the baby and have Oath in 10 minutes (including signatures and receiving certificate). People sometimes give baby 0.5 ml of liquid Tylenol and that makes baby sleepy. It is highly recommended if travelling by Air on long flights with babies. I gave Tylenol to my baby during travel to India. No harm and sometimes doctors also say you can give some Tylenol to baby if baby has cold/ cough and Tylenol makes baby sleep.

Note: Do NOT make it a regular practice. But one in a while or so, should not make a difference to baby's health.

Today I am 10 months since I applied for grant citizenship. I have been in process since early January 2018. No test invitation yet, my file in Mississauga office for the last 4 months. Anyone with the same situation. Thanks
