PG Diploma in French

Hi Friends,

I am having Bachelor's Degree with 38 age. To increase my CRS score, I am planning to give TEF. Also I am planning to do 1 Year Post Graduate Diploma to qualify for 2 degrees. I found out a 1 Year Post Graduate Diploma in French Language (PGDFL) in Amity University Online. Will WES give recognition to this PG Diploma?

I would suggest you to try PNP since at age of 38, scores will not increase at that extent until you have Canadian Work Experience.

WES Degree Equivalency Tool doesn't list any PG Diploma courses. It only lists Bachelors and Masters degree. Any other thoughts, please?

Just put Bachelors or Masters and you will get an option to search your university, if your university exists then PGD will also be evaluated.

Amity Online University is recognized by WES. I am concerned about doing PG Diploma in French. Will studying French at PG level will get recognized or not?

The french diploma will be assessed by WES. However, to get FSW/CRS points for having two or more degrees one of which is 3+ years (and consequently earn more transferable points for language, if applicable) the second degree must be a post-bachelor degree. Meaning that the program must be post graduate in nature and requires completion of a bachelor's degree for admission. The title of the degree should reflect this too.

If anyone can sign up for the diploma program you listed then it will be no use to you.

The eligibility criteria specify that you must have a 3-year degree before applying, most likely a bachelor degree. There are no degree requirements outlined such as core requirements, electives, grade minimums, policies and the like. I couldn't find a proper dept. page for French studies or who the faculty are and indeed the school does not offer a masters degree in French studies meaning the courses you'll take will not count towards a master's degree in Amity or somewhere else unlike a post-graduate degree and for these reasons I think that the degree will be equated to a University Diploma in Canada by WES and not Post-Graduate Diploma. Granted, a University Diploma can still award you points under EE.

hello all .. my problem is somewhat similar .. i did my bachelors in commerce from DU (2012-2015) .. however in 2013 .. i enrolled myself for a part time language course in french from Delhi university itself..the degree title was CERTIFICATE IN FRENCH... another year i continued with DIPLOMA in the same language and in 2016 i was done with ADVANCE DIPLOMA . in total that took me 3 years to complete the advance diploma ..my question is does that make me eligible to claim points for two or more degrees ? any inputs much awaited and appreciated.. thanks in advance !

Yes please tell us whether you received points for the diploma or not? Eagerly waiting..
