Hey guys,
Me and my husband met in the united states where i was a student on f1 status and he was working and had a h1b. We were seeing each other since feb 2017 and we wanted to get married in our home country once i was done with my studies. To the end of my studies his h1b extention was denied and had to leave the country. Both side of our families know about our relationship and my mother and brother were visiting me at that time. And as a romantic gesture we decided to marry and pledge ourselves to each other before he left the country because we didnt know how long it would be before we would meet again because i had already started my optional practical training and couldnt leave the counrty till i had a job offer. So we married in the courthouse where my family attended and his could not as they were in our home country and we could not take any pictures because our phones could not be used inside a court room. Now he is working in the uk and has applied fr a canada pr and wanted to add me into the application. Would the lack of having wedding pictures pose as a red flag ? We have a couple of selfies and a we have pics of us taken from behind inside the court room. Our relationship is genuine and he applied as a single when he did not know he would have to leave the states and only got married as gesture for our love. Please help.

Pictures are not needed as proof of marriage. You need a valid marriage certificate to prove your marital status. If you married in a courthouse I don't think that should be a problem as the court would have a written proof of your marriage.

They requested marriage pictures in the list of documents required for me to be added to the pr application.

Ok may be that's a requirement in case someone adds a spouse later on. My apologies I didn't know they ask for pictures and I had never heard or read something like this before. Hopefully, some members who added their spouse later on can help!

They did.. few pictures of marriage. Maybe it depends on where its being processed. Mine went to india even though i live in states and my spouse lives in the uk. This whole thing is driving us crazy.

Hey .. hate to ask this but why have you initiated two threads and are the “guy” on one and “girl” on this one. What is going on? Your facts on this thread are contradictory to the facts on the other. Sorry dude it’s difficult to trust whatever you’re saying.

they ask for pictures and proof of relationships if there's a suspicion of something such as a marriage of convenience for example. usually it's just the marriage certificate but they can sometimes request more info

I am the one who lives in the usa ..both my husband and me use the same id to ask questions so i can see the confusion. But the request for the pictures were made. Marriage pictures. Naturally assuming we got married in india where pictures are a must.
