Thanks for the info. I have my employers coverage that covers 80% as well. But they require me to have provincial coverage first and they will only pay 80% of whatever amount is left after provincial coverage pays their share for it. Without provincial coverage, i do not get the 80%. So thats unfortunate.

But glad to hear there are private insurance companies out there that covers you 80% even if you dont have provincial coverage. Please do update here when you get a decision back from CIC. I'm definitely interested in knowing how this went for you.

I took a case report from my own specialist along with the current pathology reports, which shows my bowels have normal mucosa, with me to IOM. They did not ask anything about UC; rather, they concerned about Tuberculosis. By God's will, I passed the medical exam last week. I wanted to share my experience with you to courage you. Do not give up! Just be strong in faith and leave the rest to God Almighty, everything will be OK.

I appeared for medical exam at IOM on Apr 2,2018. I did x-ray and gave sputum&smear tests on April 2-4, 2018. I repeated x-ray on July 3, 2018. I passed medical exam on July 12,2018.

I got ITA on May 23rd and submitted my documents on June 13th. I was asked for more documents regarding my rheumatoid arthritis and Humira which I started 2 months before applying for PR. I have high points (486), with a valid job offer.

I am still waiting for the medical clearance and the suspense is killing me! Although, according to the new mandate my annual cost is under the max limit of 19,600 CAD/annum. Any thought on this?

I have Crohn's and have taken Humira for the past 7 years, with remission and a pretty much symptom-free life ever since. I got my AOR and am anxiously awaiting news...

It took me a long time to complete my application, so I actually took the medical exams 2 months ago. I told the doctor about my Crohn's and he wrote it down, but the only tests I got at the time were the overall examination, the blood test for syphilis/HIV, and the chest X-ray.

I asked if I needed to do any tests specific to my disease and he said IRCC would let him know if they needed anything else. He hasn't contacted me ever since!

How long does IRCC take to ask the doctor for tests/prognoses/clarifications if it doesn't like what it sees? Am I in the clear since it has been 2 months since the exam? Or does the clock only start ticking after AOR?

I submitted my application of June 13th and got an email from IRCC asking for more documents about my rheumatoid arthritis (specialist's report) on June 15th. Then again was asked for another document regarding my Humira dose on June 29th which I uploaded immediately. I have not heard anything since then. My medical has not been cleared yet.

If your annual health expense is under the max limit, you do not need to worry at all! Just pray to God, and wait for his grace. Every thing is gonna be OK.

Thanks for the info. But cost of remicade is 35,000/year which is more than the updated threshold. But I have provided detail plan on how I can offset the provincial coverage cost. I was hoping that changes would bring medical inadmissibility exempt for applicants already residing in Canada. But no luck.

But I was still wondering, why did the officer do that? Actually Remicade is much more expensive, so why did he not use remicade in cost calculation and used Humira? the answer is because Humira is supported by canadian public health insurance, while remicade is not supported for new applicants, only for current benefit holders!

Hi, @ahmedhere, great job! I have the same situation as you have evolving remicade, but I have a question:
According to RAMQ, they don't cover Remicade any more because they put Inflectra which is a cheaper biosimilar. However, there is a exception: if you are reimbursed by RAMQ or a insurer or a administrator of the beneficial plan before Feb 2017 and you are still using the treatment, you can still be covered. I was using the free dose from the pharmaceutical company as you have. Do you think I am eligible for this coverage? (If I am not, it will greatly help me). Also, @ahmedhere, how much you estimate your cost at that time? does that include the health service fees?

No I have not passed. I got another procedural fairness letter. Now I am moving to inflectra which is a bit cheaper option. Or I will return back home.

Thanks for the reply. How did your specific doctor describe your dosage/frequency in the next 5 years? How the immigration office calculate your annual expense? Has your doctor agreed to switch to Inflectra which is 45% cheaper. Have you calculated the amount if you use inflectra instead? Please keep in mind that the professional fees are also considered as the expense

Yes, I am taking Humira for my RA and passed my medicals last month. PR still to come, hopefully. I declared my disease and all the medications I take. Got a report from my specialist and submitted it too. I didn't use a lawyer. All the best !!

Hello, do you know if the cost of your Humira excesses 19960$ per year. If not, you don't need worry. 19960$ should include the professional fees. For Humira, as you make shot by yourself, I don't think there is a lot
