Hey Seniors,

Shooting the query straight up:
1. Primary Occupation: NOC 4011 University Lecturer, Job duties and title are a perfect match and have reference letter
2. Primary applicant profile: Obtained Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) in June-2013
Started practicing/ working as a lecturer at a University teaching to under graduate students in engineering from June-2013.
Promoted to Head of Department, continued educational duties in addition to administrative duties of department, July-2014 to July 2015
3. Earned Master of Technology 2015-2017, started work in another NOC Code as patent researcher
4. Other related NOC codes to the primary occupation is NOC 4012 and 4021. However, 4021 is for vocational college (not the case for applicant), 4012 is for secondary teachers and researchers (also not the case).
5. NOC 4011 mentions "A master's degree in the field of specialization is required for university lecturers.": This is the cause of my worry.
However, this conflicts with Additional information:
"Progression to senior positions within a department, faculty or university is possible with experience."

Case Details:
CRS
: 456 (FSW-O India, 1 dependent, 4011 primary NOC, 3yrs exp, No foreign visits)
ITA: 23-05-2018 | AOR: 06-06-2018 | MEP: 19-06-2018 | IP1: 20-06-2018
ADR: 10-07-2018, imm 5406e Additional Family information requested
CIO: CIC Sydney (Recommended Pass on 20-06-2018)
VO: CPC CTD Ottawa (Rcvd on 27-06-2018)
GCMS 1: requested 09-07-2018; received 09-08-2018
GCMS 2 requested: 10-08-2018;

Seniors, I'm worried about the NOC related issue. I would be sincerely thankful for your help here! Kindly advise.

What is the NOC issue? Is the above extracted from your notes? Usually yes you need at least a masters to become a university lecturer. Were you a teacher's assistant instead? (TA)

4012 is for POST-secondary

Hi,
I'm positively Lecturer and Head of Department in a University. Engineering department, teaching UG students engineering. All job duties from 4011 stand true. 4012 is incorrect (this requires only enrolment to a college program as education). I was then a meritorious UG myself, later a PG too.

This is the first time i hear it's even allowed for someone with a bachelor to teach no matter how good they are. That's why it may cause questions.

Again were the above comments from gcms? Was there a review required in them? What were the agent notes that are worrying you?

Thanks for taking your time here!

The electronic notes have nothing mentioned about this. It was generated on 9-Jul, work exp and PoF assessment was pending then. However, the very next day there was an ADR for additional family information (apparently i forgot to furnish information about my parents). Thereafter on 12-jul i called and got to know that the eligibility is recommended passed for the case analyst.

This is the status since then and no movement. This lead to a cause of worry as it has been sometime now. Your thoughts?

I have a rather clear-cut question, which I need to resolve before completing my EE profile on CIC website:
I have a PhD in English from the U.S. During my doctoral studies, I worked as a TA for the department (although I was instructor of record and didn't just shadow a professor; it was my own one-man show) for 6 years (50% FTE). After that I worked as Postdoc in another school for 10.5 months (one education year).

Now, I don't know whether I should go for NOC 4012 or NOC 4011 for 'the Primary Occupation' section of the profile. I have more experience in 4012, although the career plan is to be a professor/lecturer in Canada if I get to land a good academic job (which is NOC 4011). I intend to insert both experiences in the work history section. So, could you give me a tip on what NOC do I fall under for the primary occupation?
