Hi Guys,

I am applying for my study permit and had a query regarding the offer letter required to be submitted. Since I was originally accepted for the fall term, due to personal reasons I took a defer of my admission and will now be joining in the next session. I have received my revised offer letter. I wanted to know that whether in the section which requires me to submit offer letter from my DLI, do I provide just the revised offer letter, or will it be advisable for me to attach both my old offer letter and the new offer letter. Kindly advice!

Hi,

Thanks for your response. would have any backing to support your advice? would you know anyone who applied after getting a defer?

I mean I will be submitting the two confirmation deposits I paid, the first one for the first offer letter and the second one after i got the defer. So, are you sure that is not going to create a confusion?

Yes it will surely create a confusion if you submit two offer letters.

I am assuming that you are yet to apply for study visa application and the mode of submission would be online.

Dear, please don't mind but it's too obvious, if you are applying for winter intake then you would submit an offer letter for the same. What is the point of submitting an expired offer letter which was actually issued for fall intake.
Ask this question to yourself that why did you request your institution for deferral. Because you were not able to join. The name "Revised LOA" itself reveals that the offer letter has been changed and now having new details in it. Also,it stands that the previous one has been cancelled and issued a new one. Now, you can't challenge your college to offer a seat for fall intake because they have now reserved your seat for next intake. You can't hold the seats for both intakes.

Now temme, is there any point of submitting an expired offer letter? If you still submit then you will draw visa officer's attention towards it.

Rest your wish, do whatever suits you best.

Hi,

thanks for the 'obvious' response. It wasn't that obvious to me and it doesn't hurt to be careful. My question was in the context of confirmation deposit that I have made. Since I have made two confirmation deposits, one of which was before the revised offer letter was issued to me, it made sense for me to attach both the letter, ALONGWITH the defer confirmation email, since the person reviewing my application would surely wonder why I made a deposit to the university before getting the offer letter.

Now tell me, if what I said makes sense to you? I will be drawing the visa officer's attention anyway since I will be showing two confirmation deposits being made. I am not arguing the validity of the offer letters made, I am merely trying to explain why I have made two deposits to the college.

further, my aim was to connect with someone who's already gone through the process. Surely, I am not the only one who took a defer and then applied for the visa.

Okkkk if your aim is to seek details only from those who gone through the same process and you don't appreciate others comments on it. Then I have no issues to get myself out from this discussion.

I appreciate comments which are useful and not just wishful thinking aimed at making others feel lesser. It's okay, I am sure the kind of offence you took on my one sentence and ignored the rest of the logical response, I am better off not taking your advice.

You should though take a pause before getting offended so fast that nobody is out here to personally attack you and not take your advice, if you are ready to give logical reasonable response based on some backing, example etc. You should also understand that just because you gave some advice the person seeking it is bound to accept and not seek a clarification. If you are so easily offended, maybe you should not be on forums where people come to seek out help from each other.

just to clarify, did you ask your college for a deferment or did you apply for another intake? i ask this because you said you made another deposit. if you asked your college for deferment then they would not require you for another deposit. i got loa for sept intake originally but asked my college for deferment. they did not require me to make another deposit.

I asked for a defer, which required me to fill a form and after acceptance from the adcoms, I was required to make another deposit to confirm my admission in the new term.

which college/uni is that?

@Krishna13 is correct, only the latest loa is needed when applying for sp. the previous one is deemed cancelled when you get a new and revised loa.
Okay, I understand that. But what about the confirmation deposit paid before the revised offer letter. Should I just attach the defer letter and revised acceptance?

I got my visa approval on 14 August , and request of submission of my passport. However , the circumstances are such that I can't travel to Canada. My question is if I don't submit my passport , will my application be rejected? Any comments are appriciappr.

when you say deposit, do you mean the application fee or tuition fee?

when applying for sp, you need to attach the latest loa and the tuition fee receipt. usually 1 semester but 2 sem (1 year) fee is preferred.

Dear... This is a cause of concern, why did you pay a second deposit if you have already paid it.
And what I have been trying to explain you that there is no need to submit your previous offer letter... Like in my case..
I applied in college for fall intake and deposited tuition & fees for the same, however, later I requested college to defer me for winter intake... When I received a new offer letter.. a deadline date to submit my fees was stated... It made me surprised if I already paid the fees then why they are giving me a new deadline date... I cross checked with the college.. They later confirmed that this is just a procedure they have to mention a new date whenever they send a revised LOA... And in any situation I don't have to make a second deposit..

You just need to attach a revised LOA and fee statement receipts proving that you have paid the semester fee during applying for visa application with your supporting documents.

Hope it helps...
