Change of Address with a citizenship and sponsorship application

Hi,

I would like to ask how can I update my address if I am changing location? I have submitted a citizenship application (status: In-process) AND I am a sponsor of a pending Spousal Sponsorship application (status: app has been transferred to the local VO).

If I change my address online (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/changeaddress.do), will both applications be updated at the same time? Do they ask for additional documents that may delay the processing of both or either app?

I do not believe they will ask for any further documents, and a change of address should not interfere with processing (unless maybe if you're moving abroad? but don't quote me on this lol)

Do you have UCI or application numbers for both applications? Sounds like you do, so I would send 2 messages with each application # advising of the address change You could send only 1 message, I guess, but make sure to put in the application number/UCIs for both applications!

What do you mean by sending messages? Do you mean send an email to CIC with regards to my address change?

Is it not enough to just update my address in CAS?

Oh yes, I think that would be enough! I thought you were linking the webform.
In that case, I'd log into eCAS for both applications separately and change the address

I changed my address after I submitted both a citizenship application for myself and a spouse sponsorship for my wife. I used the online form:
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=coa

I had no issues or delays with my applications.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Did they asked for any documents as stated in Change of Address form?

"Before using this service, please be sure to have a copy of all the documents you have received regarding your application(s):

These may include one or more of the following:

• a copy of your application;
• your financial receipts (IMM 5401); or
• any letter or official document issued to you by CIC."

You need some of those docs because I think the form asks you for your UCI or Application Number. and maybe some other relevant information that those docs would have. I remember the form being pretty straight forward. But note that I did this 5 years ago so I don't know if things changed a lot. When i check the current form, it still looks the same...
