That would be a very smart idea and I don't understand why they don't do it. Some people need their passport to work: as it stands it takes at least a working week from the oath day to when you obtain the passport, even if you apply for the urgent procedure which requires two working days. Is someone supposed to take a week off because they can't get a passport?Another thing they can do, some kind of add on when applying for citizenship. We pay 160-200$ extra so they hand us passport as well long with citizenship certificate after oath since citizenship application will have most of the info already. I think that might reduce some government workload.
In the UK it is possible to choose the urgent procedure, costing 2.5 times the standard procedure, but you can get a passport in 4 hours. The Government gets more money, the citizen gets a better service: it's a win-win, don't really understand why it isn't done.
