Ive been contemplating moving to Montreal because it makes way more sense and opportunities related to my career are probably the best over there (culinary).
Now, i just got my PGWP in Ontario and i've been having a really hard time finding informations about relocating to Quebec under my PGWP.
Will i be able to work with my permit?
Thank you.
Yes, you can work anywhere in Canada on a PGWP which is essentially an open work permit. However, in case you want to transfer to a closed (employer specific) work permit, or you'd like to renew your permit after it expires, your case will need additional procssing steps. You will have to first apply for and receive a cetificat d'accepation du Quebec (CAQ) through ministre de l'immigration (MIDI) of Quebec, and then apply for a closed work permit. If you work anywhere else in Canada except Quebec, you will not need a CAQ and can directly apply to the federal government for an extension/change of conditions of your work permit.
If you move to provinvce of Quebec and settle there, your permanent residence will also be a two tier system where MIDI has to "select" you and issue you a certificat de selection du Quebec (CSQ), with which you will have to apply to the federal government for PR status. You cannot apply through express entry or any other federal immigration programs, once you are setteled in Quebec.
