Mistake made by officer at port of entry, flagpole to fix it?

So, the officer made two mistakes at the port of entry with my study permit. Even though I questioned them about it then, they told me it was right, but later I discovered it was wrong.

I entered through Winnipeg Airport, with a SP with co-op WP. The officer didn't issue the co-op WP, told me the SP was enough (and put that co-op restriction thing into the SP itself), and didn't put the observation about the 20h work off campus.

I came back to the airport, and the officers there received me and took a look at my documents, and confirmed that I should have received the co-op WP, but they could not issue it there because I would need to actually cross the border. I questioned about the 20h observation and they told me my SP was ok, and I didn't need it print on the SP to work off campus (but I saw on cic page and it looks like it IS required, right?).

Then I asked if I could flagpole to fix those issues, the officer told me, even though its not an official thing, yes, i could do it.

My questions:
1. I can just go to Emerson and flagpole, and fix those mistakes, right?
2. The co-op WP is an obvious mistake, and im sure they will fix it, but the 20h observation? Is it really needed or not?
3. My wife has a OWP linked to my SP, and its all right. Can i flagpole alone? Will they modify my SP number, making the OWP invalid? Because we have two kids (1 and 3y), so it would be ALOT easier to just go alone.
4. Is it really safe to flagpole? Or should I just apply online and wait? I know the documents are all right, and shouldnt cause any problem, but I'm always afraid of going to talk to those guys at the border.
