Mine took around 2-3 hours. The next day I received a message with a document saying it has been approved and the duration of the work permit (mine is until June 2020 which is when my passport expires). I've heard it can take 7-10 days for the actual document to arrive in your mail but some people say they got it within 2 working days. I got my approval on Tuesday so I'll update you when I receive something.
Thank you so much for a detailed explanation. And all the very best in your job search..

So we submitted my sponsorship papers at the end of April, they are processing and everything. At the end of June I got my OWP application sent back to me because I didn't pay all the fees apparently. So I sent it back in within a day and am now waiting on it.

I'm getting really nervous because all of my savings are running out and my poor husband is so stressed. Hopping to get it in soon.

Anyone know if we can find a wait time specifically for Spousal sponsorship OWP?

Last I checked online they were working on paper applications from Apr 4, and the wait is about 3-4 months from the date it is received.

How are you able to check? Or rather, where?
The only thing I can seem to find is just for regular OWP which, for applied for within Canada is at 4 weeks right now...

Have you linked your OWP application to an online account? If so, can you see which day was received day?

Normally they will process your case as April or May applicants, so you should get it very soon. Meanwhile, started for you job searching, even with OWP, that would take time to find a right job, so started it now:)

Wish you the best.

loop hole in the OWP system?

Hello all,
there has been some talk on the June forum about cutting the OWP time in half and I wanted to see if anyone has tried it. We just received our AOR last week and are in the processing of linking our OWP which was sent together.
Birdies are claiming that if you apply for the OWP a second time (online) after you have received your AOR and linked your application successfully, you receive it in 5 weeks. After that, they say you can simply withdraw your paper OWP application. I am wondering if anyone on this forum as tried this. Though we are ecstatic about our AOR coming in, the prospect of my husband returning to work sooner is very appealing to us...
