Brother in Canada can sponsor my student visa?

Hi,

My brother and sister are both Canadian citizens already and I am 43 years old. I am interested in going to Canada as well to improve my points for express entry and therefore the only option I have is to study. I understand that I am old already for this, but I would like to do a two year post graduate study or a masters. Not sure what will be better for me to emigrate.

The problem I have is that I don't have enough money with me now, but my brother and sister have money to sponsor me in Canada, place to stay etc.

Do you think it is possible for me to require a student visa with 100% sponsorship from my brothers? In addition, can I explain that I will be going there to study and then immigrate? Or no, I have to stay I want to return?

I have a house and a car in my country, but I don't have proof of funds here, since I am unemployed.

Any advice? Do I have time to ask for this student visa so I can start in Jan 2019?

Last, I have a B2 US Visa on my passport, many international trips and a Chinese visa as well.

The only concern of mine is my age to be sponsored and my bank account with proof of funds. This would be done by my brothers and using their bank accounts.

Any info is much appreciated!

Thank you!

So you need to get admission to a school before you can even start applying for visa if you can find a school to admit you for January soon then there is enough time to get a visa.

Given your age I would recommend you apply for masters/MBA or similar to increase chances of getting visa.

You never mention that you want to immigrate you must show to the visa officer that you have roots back home and you must show how this study choice makes sense given your profile and how it will help you once you get back home.
Given your age and lack of employment/funds it is going to be very tough to show that you are a genuine student.

Your brother is allowed to sponsor you but again this might count against you as the visa officer will think you have no reason to go back home.
I suggest you read the Paper application requirements very carefully for your country to see all the requirements that you and your brother will have to provide and read about applications, rejections & SOP/study plan on this forum.

hi,

sop is statement of purpose. it is aletter stating why you want to study in canada and not your home country. here’s a sample that might help: http://unnitmetaliya.com/sop-sample/

which country are you from? if you are from china, india, philippines or vietnam, you may qualify under study direct stream (sds). this stream is a much simpler process where you only need to pay 1 year tuition and deposit can$10,000 at a designated bank. this will be your financial documents. then show strong ties to home country such as family and properties.

Many thanks for this, now I understand what SOP is! I am from Latin America, so I can't get this benefit I am afraid!

I will search for the topic applications, rejections & SOP/study plan so I can read more.

Too much info at once and I am trying to find best strategy! Unfortunately MBA or Master for Ontario is way expensive for me at this stage, but I am still trying to find something like that! So I have more chances!

Thank You!
