Hi,
I've applied in 31 January 2017 and got medical exams Feb. 28, sent Mar. 5.

I see a lot of people in the same situation on that topic. Almost 19 months.

I got a GCMS notes:
Assessments:
Eligibility : Passed
Security: Not Started
Ciminality : Passed
Medical :L Passed
Info Sharing : Passed

Is that normal Security : Not Started?

Jan 04 applicant, still waiting. I called cic and they said they cannot do anything until my application pass the processing time. They can inform the officer that my processing time is done and to start the security but even it is not sure that it will be done soon.

The processing time has been changed for new applicants but for applicants who already applied remains same for them. 15-19 months for people who has not applied yet and 19 for who have already applied. It sucks.

Jan 16 2017 applicant still waiting for PR.

Call CIC yesterday and ask them about update , I wait for 40 mins and information I got you not complete 19 months yet .

It’s only 13 days left to complete 19 months and Security check is not started yet. It’s getting so frustrating day by day and really hard to handle .

Guys, don't get confused: YOUR SECURITY WILL ALWAYS SAY NOT STARTED.
The only way to understand if it has started is to look at the file location: if it says PS, that means it's undergoing security check.
Now, if your security check is taking more than 6 months, I would request GCMS notes from CBSA and CSIS to see if your application was selected for the extended security screening.
