How quick can my kids go to school once I get my PR Status?

Hopefully I will have an invite to join in the next round. I am just wondering how quickly your children can be registered to attend a Canadian School after you get your PR

one of my friend landed in vancouver last september and got her Daughter admitted to School in few days.

it depends on when do the Session starts, usually session starts in September-October.

I am planning to land to Vancouver in November after getting PR. But still I have some serious doubts on the cost of living. I have a son who is pre school age of 4.

Will you be able to provide me some genuine lite on the cost of living from your friend. Like pre school cost- whether it is 9 to 6 school, and rent and basic living cost. It would be the best way I can get some info since she has same experience.

I really appreciate if you can help me on this.

he is in Vancouver, Basement Rent in which he is living is 1100 CAD, although he is getting 450 CAD as Kid allowance, and school is FREE. and School timing is basically same 9 to 3. His daughter is quite happy as she dont have to wake up at 6 like she used to in India.
