Yeah, may be you're right.. I think I remember slightly now, there was a question about farmers in the UK and rest all were about farmers in Australia. bloody confusing to remember now.

However, I remember Australian farmers are ready for making change with limited research, not before research results like you stated.

One answer is also about govt advertisements on farming - being irrelavant.

In the reading section:

6000 workers paragraph - large no of workers and their place of stay still remains (2 answers there)

The railway line through welsh towns - unmanned stations and station names not able to pronounce - 2 answers right there in the same paragraph

The one to fishing village St.Mary's or something - was established to improve trade/economy and now became a touristy town - 2 answers right there in the same paragraph


One station was kept running because of public protest - remains today because of public support

One train last 10 miles filled with tunnels - most of the last leg runs underground.

Think I covered all 8 there...

Hmm.. may be not, there was one question which asked about local something' the answer for this was Last paragraph, may be G.. because it was only talking about the train line being restricted to only local cities of the UK. I could be wrong, but this was my answer.

Ya, I lost track of the map midway. I got the the first 2 and last 2 right I think, even if I screwed up the middle 2 and hit 8.5 in listening that ll be wonderful.

would writing September 14th vs September 14 make any difference ? I included 'th' after number, or perhaps it could only be used when we say '14th of September' ? I feel for the question asked.. 'week starting____' September 14 sounds right, may be 14th will be marked wrong ? what do you guys think ?

The other farming answers I remember are:

Ask/interview farmers directly to get clearer answers. Farmers are usually hesitant to answer properly online or whatever

Also, give them open-ended questions (with no options or something)

Include location in your title (because farms concentrated in a specific area)

I wrote September 14th. As a native English speaker, I would normally say - September fourteenth vs September fourteen. Though likely either answer would ok.

I wrote July answer as "July (July 31)" because the the hotel guy said pay it by last of july. I think there a little bit of leeway with how you write your answers. So its good I think.

I have a feeling the IELTS paragraphs are heavily modified version of Crossrail project recently completed in London. Atleast the numbers ( 10 miles, 26 stations) are very similar to that story but I couldn't find much. Does anyone remember any of the places or station names (there were 2) mentioned in the paras?

No it was about old/unique /vintage rail lines in UK. One went into Welsh territory. One ran into scotland etc., One rail line/station is familiar because it featured in 2 movies...

Wasn't it supposed to be just one word and/or a number ? how would July (July 31) be regarded as correct answer? Though these are possible answers, you're only required to right one I guess, but you wrote it under assumption exceeding the answer limit, so I'm not sure.

You rock! spot on.. gives relief that all answers are indeed right, except for carpet case, which I'm sure is right anyways.
