Hi Folks,

One of my previous employer has clearly refused to give me anything on letterhead or even official e-mail. I need my roles and responsibilities on a letterhead ideally but that is far from happening.

I am sure that I am not the only one sailing in this boat and some of you may have faced this issue before.

I will attach pay slips, contracts, relieving letter, resignation acceptance etc but how can I serve the purpose of showing my job description for immigration purposes and claiming points.

Please suggest. A senior management employee has agreed to write a letter for me. Should this be on a Stamp paper where that person declares info to be true?

Please suggest how to overcome this issue.

Plain paper will do, if possible get it notarized.Do attach mail communication where company refused to provide on letterhead and attach senior employees business card etc.

I submitted only the notarized copy from a colleague along with offer letter, promotion letters and pay slips. I did not face any problems and I have seen so many here who did the same.

Thanks a lot. So you are a living example of having overcome this situation more recently :). Puts my mind at ease. My senior colleague has agreed so I see no problems at all.

I didn’t notarise anything. In my case along with reference letter from a colleague, I attached his ID card and visiting card. I put up the visiting card right under his signature on reference letter. That did the job for me.

You don't need a letter for every job. Only if the experience is needed to qualify for the program (ex. FSW) or to claim the CRS points, then you need the letter. If you include the experience in 'work experience' section of the application, a letter will be required.

Yes my original question or post is to clarify if letter is needed to claim CRS points under FSW. One of my employer is not ready to oblige at all. I have claimed points for this work ex in my EE profile but my precious employer has refused to provide such a letter as per their policy. Hence I have no choice but to get validation from my senior employee.

I was successful just using job duties on plain paper + notary + co-worker id card. I just included every other letter like service, appraisal, promotion letter etc from that company that were on letterhead. I also included some pay slips and tax forms for the period associated with the company. I wrote an explanation saying that since my company didn't provide job duties letter on letterhead, I got it from co-worker, and I also stressed that the point that I have included every other document available on a company letterhead. I bundled all these in to a single PDF with explanation letter as first page and submitted.

My collegue is willing to give letter on plain paper with notarization. Unfortunately our company got acquired and at client location we do not have new id cards or business card.

What else can my collegue provide to prove he is currently employed with the company? Will his H1-B visa copy be sufficient?

I can get coworker letter and he will notarize it. Only problem is he does not have his id-card since we are onsite and our company was acquired by another company. Can he provide his H1b visa copy that as company name ?

I also have my H1-B letters sent to USCIS that show job duties which match NOC. Can I use that as well?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, anything you feel relevant. The more you detail, the less they'll suspect the employment or duties.
