Please Update: Medical request Received today July 26th

Got passport request through email on Tuesday. But i have a tricky situation. Please help if you've run into or heard of something similar.

My mom is visiting me in Canada and her return flight to China is in 30 days so she won't be able to send passport within the specified 30 days limit. My dad is in China and he has to wait for my mom to return so they can send passports together.

What should i do in this situation? The PPR email provided a link to a web form i can contact the visa office. But i'm wondering what would happen in my case so i know what to expect.

Firstly, tell cic your mom will travel to china within XX days. And she doesn’t have enough time to submit the passport.
Secondly, ask cic if your mom and dad can send passport to Beijing or other visa office in China to get PR visa stamped. ( I will do this in the future.)

Quick question.

I applied to sponsor my mother last November. In April they asked for one extra document, In June they sent notification for the medical test. And just now i received an email asking for the background checks, CAQ from Quebec, payment for the residence fee, and a couple more things.

My questions is in regards to timelines. If i check online for processing times, it says that they working on files submitted 4 years ago, but then at the point we are with our application seems to be very advanced. Does it mean the process will be resolved a lot sooner ?

Medical tests passed already, background checks will be done soon as well. I dont see the process taking 3 or 4 years extra after this.

My main concern at this point is that i was actually counting with the process to take 4 years, even my mother was counting with that...

“Not applicable” is better than “We have received the additional documents you provided.” After you passed the medical exam.
My understanding is that the officer already reviewed your documents, Since a person whose status is "not applicable" when he got PPR。You will get PPR soon.

YULIA-2016 - Kindly update received PPR mail last night, July 26, 2018.

I would also like to inform that it was showing 'Decision Made' since July 6, but no communication was received. I had to follow up with CIC thru the call center to find out that the email for PPR was already sent, but not received by me. I requested to resend and got it last night. email from LVO CPC-Ottawa, passports to be submitted to Embassy in New Delhi thru VFS India services within 30 days from date of letter..

Hello Guys, now this is tricky and new to me.
They updated status saying Document type counterfoil validity until next year may.
does that mean my parents needs to re enter Canada again to get PR? My Parents are already in Canada.
Please need some suggesstion

Hi @nikrao , What do you mean counterfoil? Did you call CIC and ask for more details? And how long after you sent the PP, did they send it back? My parents are here in Canada as well and I have sent the passports for PR visa stamping. I thought they can either go to the border and reenter as permanent residents or make an appointment at the local immigration office to get the PR done.

My father in law was in this same exact situation. He changed his flight and returned to China a week later. Afterwards, he couriered his passport together with his wife's to Beijing. I even asked them if they want do some sightseeing in Beijing and hand deliver their passport.
