You're creating a problem where there is no problem.
Yes - they share information and this history will be found. If you fail to report your marriage in your PR application, your application will then be refused for misrepresentation and you'll be banned from Canada for 5 years.
You don't need to divorce to include your common law partner in your PR application. You just have to show you are no longer with your former spouse.
