Two questions - RCMP check upload and change in application

Hello all,

In the beginning of July, my wife who applied inland with OWP received a request to do the RCMP check.

We have done the RCMP check, and on re-reading the letter, it states to upload it re the case specific enquiry page.

However, our application is linked in myCIC, and there is a spot there to upload it. It is due by August 2, which is in line with 30 days from letter date.

I feel it would be best to upload it via myCIC as its the best direct linkage, but i also dont want to do something contrary to the letter. Would it be best to do both?

Second question: the letter received mention that we must report any change in circumstances. Typically not applicable for most, but we submitted our application in early January, and had our second child, born in Canada, in March.

We did mention that our second was on the way, and we did include information for our first in terms of being a Canadian citizen (I believe, been a while since I looked at what we put together). I suppose this would also warrant an update, but I am not sure how to do this. As well, its been months later and I dont want that to be frowned upon, when we seem closer to the end than the beginning.

Looking for advice/thoughts.

1. If there is a request for the upload in your CIC account, do it there.
2. You can send a CSE to notify IRCC of the birth of your second child, but it'd be a courtesy notification. This child, being a Canadian citizen, is not a dependent for the purposes of your application and so does not change the status of your app in any way. Nice to let them know though.

2. via client specific inquiry, makes sense; as i believe there is an area for description, and does not require a letter, etc. Do you think it makes things faster, slower or no change to give them this courtesy notification?

It should not make a difference on the processing speed of your application, since you're not adding a dependent to the paperwork.
