Hi! I got an email yesterday about original passport request. I have read that some people took weeks and weeks to get their passport back. I am worried for I have to fly within a week because I have a wedding to attend to. If I personally submit my passport to the embassy, will I get my passport within the day? How long would I wait for it to be stamped?
*Ps: really confused with- ‘you can pick up your passport personally’ — does it mean I wont get it back the same day I submitted it?

Thanking everyone in advance! Please help me

It does not take several weeks to get the processed passport back. Also, same day visa stamping is exceptionally rare and is possible only at a few visa offices.

Where did you apply from?

You can also have them mail it to you if it's ready. If you are within Metro Manila, mailing is overnight, + 2 business days for stamping.

Alternatively, you can submit it after the wedding, right? When you come back, isn't it still going to be within 30 days?

Thanks for replying! My address is way far from manila (province of Batangas) and the wedding I have to attend to is in Canada (which is why I applied) the wedding will be in August 25 and Im planning to fly there before August starts or august 1st so I really need my passport back as soon as possible.
*The thing is, if I used a prepaid courier envelope for them to send it back to me, or courier delivery to me(additional service at CVAC) i dont know how many days it will take. I have to know because I have not yet booked a flight, and it depends on when my passport be brought back to me.
*Also a thing, does paying the PR document Transmission Service makes my passport be stamped faster? And how would I pay for that including the service charge thru manager’s check?
THANKYOU SO MUCH!

Might take about 2 days extra then for Batangas.

“PR document transmission service” does not apply to you.

From another forum, here’s the recent breakdown:

As of today the amount is 948Php. Here's the breakdown:

1. Secure transmission of passport to the Embassy of Canada in Makati City, Philippines upon request by visa office (for example, electronic application) --- 576Php
2. Courier Delivery of Applications to Applicant, upon receipt from visa office ---- 303Php
3. SMS Notifications --- 69Php

For the consent form you can download it from the VFS website (fill up and sign the second page and no need to fill up the third page if you applied without the help of a travel agent or rep) and for the contact information you can just print out or write down your contact info (email address, phone number and return address) on a bond paper.

What needs to be sent:
1. Passport
2. Passport request letter you received from IRCC
3. Manager's Check for Visa Application Centre (VAC) fees, such as Passport Transmission service fee, courier fee, etc. 4. Your contact information, including email address, phone number, and return address.
5. The VAC Consent Form
Oh even with back and forth mailing, you’ll get it well before August 25. It might take about a week or so.
