yes i got approved! received my conformation of PR a couple days ago. i think as long as the charge is withdrawn or it's not very serious crimes should be fine.

however i see some posts saying, during landing interview the officer can revoke your confirmation of PR anytime :/
I see and i think as long as there is a legal document statement about the case being dismissed should be fine.. please let me know how it goes..where were you charged is it outside canada?

I do not have any court documents (it takes a few months to process), and CIC did not request it either. Im planning to bring a police clearance certificate from my local police it will show that i have no criminal record, and no pending charges. hopefully this will be sufficient... i live in the GTA, the incident happened in GTA too.

i also consulted a few friends they say as long as you are honest when they ask you should be fine.

im going this sunday, will keep you posted.

My situation is a bit unique because i only found out a minor theft charge against me after my PR was approved. So apparently i was charged after i filed for PR but i was never arrested or anything and i never knew about the charge until last month after my PR was approved when i tried to land. But long story short, i got the charges withdrawn without the need to go for my first appearance.

If that’s the case I think your should be fine too. I contacted an immigrant consultant today ,. They told me to be honest. Minor charges which eventually got withdrawn shouldn’t be a problem. It may slow down your application though.

Good luck on your landing!

Hi guys. I got my PR landing approved today. Weird thing though I asked whether I should answer yes to whether you been charged or convicted question and the CBSA officer said no need because as long the charges are withdrawn then I should answer no. So the officer wrote No and had me initial it.

Not sure how that will affect me for my future Canadian immigration.
