You can do landing work done at any International airport in Canada. We did ours at Toronto though we were SINP candidates

As I said ANY CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Don't worry and go ahead to book your tickets to the airport that suits you the most

The only thing to keep in mind is that you must have the tickets booked for your final destination (i.e. Saskatoon or Regina in your case) before landing at any Canadian International airport so that you can show it to the CBSA offficer (if asked to produce) to prove that you will be flying to your nominating province in a day or 2

Many congratulations !!
Next Steps to follow:
  • Book your air ticket, there is no direct flight available to Saskatoon. You would need to land either at Toronto, BC etc. try to keep minimum 3 hours for your connecting flight to be able to complete your immigration formalities without any issues.
  • You could complete your landing formalities at any airport which is your POE or point of entry, for example if you land at Toronto airport you would be asked for your passports, COPR both Original and copy, you would need to sign those documents in front of the immigration official. If you have any friend or relative in Canada you can use their address for receiving the PR card, if not you could request at a later stage (within 180 days of landing) once your have an apartment or house finalized.
  • If you are carrying currency in cash exceeding 10000 CAD, you need to declare in the immigration form. I carried less but still declare to be on the safer side.
  • You should also apply for your Social Insurance Number (SIN) number with the Service Canada at the airport itself. If not the service canada office is located at the Market Mall in Saskatoon from where you can apply, need to carry your passports and COPR.
  • Bank account could be easily opened with Scotia bank branch close to your house.
  • You need to visit Open Door Society at the Downtown Saskatoon which would help in filling the health, child benefit and tax benefit forms. For receiving child benefit (below 17 years of age) you would need to provide your income from last 3 years (2016 - 2018), good to carry the evidences.
  • The areas good of family living are Evergreen, Willgroove, Preston Avenue, 8th Street and Stonebridge. A 2 bedroom apartment would cost 900 - 1400 CAD per month which includes your heating, parking etc.
  • For school admission reach out to Newcomer Student Center at the Saskatoon downtown. They would ask for your passports, COPR, and kids previous class results. The new session would start in September but admission can be done in August. A prior appointment is required.
  • For driving license carry our India driving license, International Driving Permit and any driving history if possible from your local RTO. You would need to appear for an online driving test "https://testdrivepractice.sgi.sk.ca/practice/exams" to get your learners license. This link helps to prepare for the online test.
  • If you need any help with hotel booking, let me know. You can reach me at kapil5576@hotmail.com.
