Hi all and happy Friday!

After less than 3 weeks submitting my PR (June 23), I already have a request for a Police Certificate from Hong Kong where I grew up- I guess thats a good thing?

The Hong Kong police department, however, will only send records directly to the Ottawa processing centre, which conflicts with the request from CIC that i upload such record digitally on the portal. I have already sent out the request to Hong Kong via registered mail.

After speaking to a nice rep on the IRCC hotline, she recommends that I upload a detailed LOE explaining the situation, and that they will understand. The police record should arrive in ottawa within 5 weeks, well within the 60 day limit.

Does anyone else have prior experience similar to this? What is my best course of action moving forward?

Thanks in advance

Upload proof that you have applied for the PCC (fee receipt, mailing records etc.) in the PCC section of the application. Then in additional documents section, you can include a letter of explanation to explain the whole thing. It should work fine.
