Hello..I am a refugee claimant here in Canada but yet to appear for my hearing. My wife and 2 kids are willing to pay a visit by applying for a Canadian visa because my kids miss me a lot and they question their mom about their dad's whereabout. So do you think there's a chance for them getting a visiting visa ?
Thanks

Unfortunately the chances of a TRV being approved are effectively nil due to your pending refugee claim.

Thanks for your prompt response. And please is it possible for a refugee claimant to change to express entry from inside Canada. Just trying to satisfy my curiosity..

No - I don't believe it is. You must have valid status in Canada in order to apply for Express Entry from within Canada. I don't believe IRCC views refugees as having valid status in Canada.

If your family have good tile in your country, they can get Visa. Is your wife working ? I suppose you are a Nigerian.

Yes my wife is actively working with the Nigerian government and yes I am a Nigerian.

If she have travel history and property as asset, She can try to apply. I know a family that was approved when his spouse still awaiting hearing.

She has a well established travel history..being to three different countries and been working for 8years..
I understand the notion that they might think she's coming to stay cos I'm here but that's not in her agenda as she only wanna come with the kids just to spend time with their dad then go back..

Chances are basically zero. Only if someone arrived from a visa exempt country or already had a previous visa would a visit be possible.

If you get approved you can apply for an RTD and visit in a country other than Canada or Nigeria.

Everyone's opinion is as important. I thought the chances are truly zero but sometimes..possibility is in impossibility..
Or what do you guys think ?

Even on this forum, a guy still waiting for hearing shared said he wife and kids was approved Visit Visa. I know it's hard but if you can prove beyond all odds
