I am a consultant myself, My documentation was legit and error free. They approved it in 67 days.

My application is also stuck in the same state since 8th May. Even the background check has not started yet. Applied through FSW single applicant.
I raised a query to IRCC and got a response saying that all the documents are in place and they will get back to me once they arrive at a decision or need additional documents. Does that mean they have not even picked my file yet for processing?

In your case, as you have mentioned, I believe that your eligibility is being reviewed. Definitely, you are in the initial processing stage. Please login to your CIC profile and you will see your current status there. In case, you are already checking that, I know you must be seeing the same status since Medical Passed which I understand is 8th May.
My CIC profile's current status is that my eligibility requirements are being reviewed and my background check has not started yet.
Yes, I too had raised query and got a response in similar phrases.
What is your AOR?
Your can join the group (forum in CanadaVisa website) for your month's AOR for example, April 2018 AOR forum and so on, and read the posts, they are helpful.
The number to call IRCC outside Canada is +1 613 944 4000 options 1111122. They usually provide the information in the profile what we see, on this call. The experience of different people of this call varies. So again, read more posts.

I applied for study permit on 24th Oct through paper based application at Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Linked to GCKey on 20th Nov, from then on wards status is as below,

Normal processing time when I applied was 4 weeks, but now 5 weeks. Today received correspondence from embassy for validity of bio-metrics information. Can someone tell me how long will it take to finalize.
