I was just curious as to where I can find the 4-6 month processing wait time? I tried looking it up and it told me 12 months for both applying inside and outside of Canada.
You won't find it. 12 months is provided as an estimated average for non-complicated applications. It can take more or less time than that. Right now, with current trends, it seems that most outland applications are being completed in much less time than the estimate given by CIC. You can look at the threads/trackers for recent months and see the speed of many of the applications.

I should also mention we only have a one way ticket. Will that lessen our chances of getting through the initial border crossing?

I've crossed multiple times without a return ticket booked. Just tell them that you haven't determined a specific return date yet, but that you are willing and able to leave Canada if necessary at any time.

Hi, I have a similar question but for common law (which requires 12 months living together) I live in europe and shes in canada but when I first arrive should I also say I want to live with gf and coming for six months or rather say im staying for 4 weeks with round trip booked and probably if he dont stamp my passport I just stay 6 months and then try renew it for the next 6 months I require. ( I was here this year for couple weeks and dint get stamp)
Im poor and dont have a lot of finances so if they ask about supporting myself I can say i'm staying with her so this is main reason why I'm afraid of rejection to show funds.

I'm a bit unclear as to what your precise question is. Do you have a round trip ticket booked already? If so, then you can tell them that you have your return ticket booked if they ask. Otherwise, tell them that you are there to VISIT your girlfriend. If you do not have a return ticket yet, tell them that you have not yet determined a specific date, but that you are willing and able to leave if necessary. Unless you get a specific exit date from the border agent, then you can stay the 6 months and then apply for an extension from inside Canada. You wouldn't have to use the return ticket home if you didn't have to. In terms of funds, it's entirely subject to the agent, but if you have no job or significant ties to your home country, and no return ticket, and cannot prove any resources to support yourself, you might have a tougher time at the border.

Thanks , no I dont have the trip booked yet, i wont have a job back home when I come for six months and then try to extend for another 6.
what i can do is book a round trip for a month and if I dont get a stamp on passport then i'll automaticly get 6 months so when i do ill cancel my return trip for a refund from my airline.
My roundtrip and also family back home can be my ties back home.

Booking the round trip ticket is your most advisable plan.

i wanted to add to this earlier comment you made, i dont think the first six months will be an issue, since i can say I'm visiting my gf for a 1month and i should get in with 6 months automaticly, but the extension will be more tricky to prove home ties, because of financial situation unless i get her parents to sign a form they can support me or i can book a one way ticket back home and show them I will go back if needed ,i can also ask them lend me money and i deposit in bank account as proof of my funds or they sign a form stating they gave it to me its mine.
since i require 12 month cohabitation I need to make sure i do get the extension of 6 months and once that expires try to get another extension while we apply for sponsorship and my openwork permit.(but this last extension i can just say i need to extend because I need to stay inland to apply for PR and open work permit application.)
