IELTS Request

Hi Guys , I have a query
  1. My wife and I are equally qualified in terms of education, both have done masters and with work experience of 4 or more years. I am self -employed for more than 7 years , she is employed and self-employed for 4 years
  2. I am going to be 30 this December and she is 27 .
  3. In Funds, I have proof of funds in excess, whereas she does not.
  4. We are due to give IELTS , but I believe she will score higher than me.
  5. Both of our CRS scores are coming down to 421 -423 , considering we don't get the golden IELTS score ( worse case scenario )

Kindly advise me , how to go about it ? Shall I apply in her name or by mine ? And what are our genuine chances .

Thanks a ton !

1. It might be smart to consider whose documents are easier to put together, in terms of work experience etc. Accordingly you can decide who should be the primary applicant.

2. Since age is on her side I'd recommend she ace her IELTS and become the primary applicant. If you're sure to receive ita and submit your application before december then you can also be the primary applicant without worrying about score decreasing. If you both have master's and good IELTS you should be able to score above 450.

3. Funds in secondary applicants account are accepted as POF. It doesn't matter if the funds are in your account or her's. You could add her name and make it a joint account or just write a simple letter stating that she has access to all the funds in your account at any point of time.

4. Honestly you can never tell who might do better.

5. Well, you don't have a choice but to get the golden IELTS score. Without that your CRS points seem very low and chances of getting ITA are next to none.

Not yet , I am in the process . I have applied for transcripts , but I plan to get the ECA done for both of us . I reckon , that wouldn't me much of a problem since we both have done Masters from reputable universities.
