Hello there...
I am a canadian citizen living in beirut lebanon with my wife of 4 years and 2 year old also canadian citizen son. I been in beirut for 7 years now working and havent been to canada since i have my mother and father and siblings all living in canada and working i finally decided to leave lebanon and live in canada with my family and work in canada but when i went to the canadian embassy to renew my passport after a month wait they sent me a letter saying i have a warrant in ontario for theft under 5000$ and failure to appear in court so canada didnt send me a passport and took my old one and told me i can go to canada on a emergency travel document thats no problem because i knew about my warrant but didnt know they can take away my passport for a small crime anyways i know i have to go to canada to clear my warrant and get a lawyer its been 7 years and i know i cant sponser my wife until i do that any how when i do clear it all up my question is should i sponser my wife from canada while i am there or from lebanon what is the fastest way to bring her to canada???

Once you’ve cleared everything, your choices are to apply are based on her location, not yours. So if she can get a TRV and come to Canada then you can apply Inland and she can also apply for an open work permit. Otherwise you will need to apply as Outland but it doesn’t matter where you live. Both streams are currently aiming to be completed in 12 months.
