I saw a video that mentioned gift deed can be given by friends too though. However they didn't mention what could be the explanation.

naah, gift deed is not necessarily from parents, but it is generally from family members like siblings, uncles, etc. The BF/GF angle is interesting, no harm in trying. However, would be great if you could route it through a family member.

What could be the next steps in case the application is rejected?
If we try the gf/bf angle and reapply with funds through family, or 6months in bank account route next time, how would the application be assessed the second time?
