Hello,
I have an approved CoPR and visa stamp on my passport. When I applied, I did it as a single applicant and receiver my visa and CoPR as a single (unmarried) applicant.
But, now i am getting married here in the US and my wife is a US citizen.

I am not planning to sponsor my spouse and add her to my application. Can I enter Canada without making changes to my application, since i am not sponsoring my spouse?

Also i’ve heard from my friends in Canada that when someone enters Canada, they can let the border patrol officer know about their marital status change, so they can update it in the government records right away. Is that true?

Hi

If you get married before you land, you MUST return your documents and add your spouse to your app. She must have a medical, submit documents/forms/PCCs, etc.

If you only tell CBSA when you are landing that you got married, they will refuse to land you and tell you to add your spouse to your application. If you land as single when you are married, you will be committing misrepresentation.
